Official press resources for journalists, documentary producers, broadcasters, travel writers, and digital creators covering Benin Republic and West Africa. All assets, contacts, and accreditation procedures are available on this page.
Visit Benin Republic is the official digital tourism and investment platform for Benin Republic (formerly the Republic of Dahomey), operated by Village Man Ventures. Founded in 2023 and based in both Cotonou, Benin Republic and Helsinki, Finland, Visit Benin Republic provides the most comprehensive English-language resource for travellers, diaspora visitors, investors, and cultural researchers interested in West Africa’s most richly layered destination.
The platform covers ten destinations across the country’s six ecological zones from the Vodoun sacred sites of coastal Ouidah and the UNESCO-listed Royal Palaces of Abomey, to the Tata Somba fortress villages of the Atacora mountains and the Yoruba diaspora-source city of Kétou. Visit Benin Republic provides guided tour packages, diaspora homecoming programmes, wildlife safari access to Pendjari National Park (managed by African Parks), and investment facilitation for European and international investors entering the Beninese market.
The platform is led by Jah Kodjo, a Finnish-Beninese entrepreneur and AI/cybersecurity engineer with operational bases in Helsinki and Cotonou, and a team of seven on-ground guides and community specialists across Benin Republic.
All assets are provided under the VBR Media Licence — free to use in editorial coverage of Benin Republic and Visit Benin Republic with attribution. Commercial licensing enquiries: [email protected]
Visit Benin Republic facilitates press trips and familiarisation (FAM) tours for accredited journalists, travel writers, documentary producers, and digital creators with demonstrable audience reach relevant to Benin Republic’s target visitor markets.
We offer a small number of fully hosted press trips annually (transport, accommodation, guide services, and country-specific costs covered by VBR) and a larger number of assisted visits (guide and logistics support at cost price for media with significant reach).
Priority is given to journalists covering African diaspora heritage, wildlife and conservation, West Africa travel, cultural tourism, and investment in frontier markets.
Applications are reviewed by Jah Kodjo and Gaston Honvou. We respond to all applications within 72 hours. Press trip availability is limited — apply at least 8 weeks before your proposed travel dates.
